This commission forms a business unit of the VDE and at the same time constitutes a standards committee within the German Institute for Standardization. Part of the long list of VDE standards are also those of the category VDE 0530 for rotating electrical machines. With the VDE0530 standards 1 to 33, guidelines are set, for example, for ratings and operating behavior, connection designations, thermal protection or excitation systems for synchronous machines.
