With the large number of training careers and degree courses, it can be a great challenge for young people to find their way through the “professional jungle” – they are often in the dark and wonder which path they should take and where their professional journey should actually take them.

What do I want, what can I do?
Deciding on a particular profession is not an easy task.
Getting to grips with your own interests, strengths and weaknesses and the various professional fields at an early stage helps you to find out which career is right for you.
A practice-oriented exploratory trip to a company can be very helpful – because only those who try things out can know where they should go.
EXPLORATORY TRIP INTO THE WORLD OF WORK
A day full of formative impressions at RUHRGETRIEBE
To support young people in this process, we participated in the career exploration days organized by the city of Mülheim.
From 22.04.2024 – 24.04.2024, pupils from Year 8 had the opportunity to explore one professional field at a time in order to gain initial insights into the world of work and develop realistic ideas of various professional activities.
On April 23, 2024, a young woman from Heißen High School and two young men from the secondary school on Mellinghofer Straße spent a day at RUHRGETRIEBE. After a short round of introductions and a tour of the company, the three were able to get to know the day-to-day work of our trainees in the company. In addition to small practical tasks such as the assembly of a geared motor (drilling, screwing, assembling, function checks…), the job description of industrial mechanic:in was clearly explained and all questions regarding the training were answered.
