ZVE: industrial associations for electrical engineering- & Electrical industry

Ruhrgetriebe in the industrial associations

The ZVEI – Zentralverband Elektrotechnik- und Elektronikindustrie e. V. (German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association) pursues the task of representing the technological, economic and environmental interests of the German electrical industry. In terms of the number of employees and total sales, this is the third largest industrial sector in the German Federal Republic behind mechanical engineering and the IT sector. According to its own information, the association counts more than 1,600 companies among its members. One of them is Ruhrgetriebe KG.

Area of responsibility:Around 80 leading manufacturers are organized in the Electrical Drives Division of the ZVEI – German Electrical and Electronic Manufacturers’ Association. The aim is to exchange opinions and experience on developments in the market and with regard to technical guidelines and standards. The department comprises various working groups in which manufacturers and service providers from different directions have joined forces, depending on the subject matter. For example, Ruhrgetriebe is represented in the small motors working group and in the technical working group for electrical machines.

Small motors working group brings together manufacturers of AC motors

As a manufacturer of AC motors and other drive technology components, Ruhrgetriebe is represented among the participants of the ZVEI’s small motors working group. The association brings together sales and marketing managers as well as product managers from companies that produce three-phase small motors, DC small motors and AC small motors up to 0.75 kW. In addition to determining the focus of lobbying activities and jointly developing manufacturer positions with regard to standards and regulations, the aim of the working group is also to prepare market and economic surveys. In addition to Ruhrgetriebe KG, other renowned companies such as Robert Bosch and Siemens are represented in the Small Motors Working Group.

Energy efficiency and electromobility represent current trends that require both the consistent further development of electric machines and a deepening of cooperation between the supplier industry and the manufacturers of electric motors. For this purpose, the technical working group Electrical Machines of the ZVEI Central Association was established. This is where developers and producers of electrical machines come together to evaluate and assess, among other things, the impact that product standardization brings. Other objectives include the assertion of manufacturers’ interests in the various standards organizations, the joint development of positions in connection with technical law and European directives, and the discussion and evaluation of technology trends specific to the industry. As an experienced electric gearmotor manufacturer, Ruhrgetriebe is also part of the numerous machine manufacturers and institutes that make up the field of participants in the Electric Machines Working Group.
